What's the difference between budget homestays and luxury resorts in Andaman?

I have a limited budget, and yet, I would like to enjoy the best of Andaman. I have been searching on Andaman packages from kolkata which comes with accommodation packages. A budget homestay may cost anything between 1,000 and 3,000 rupees a night depending on the location and the facilities. The homestays are typically operated by local families thus they provide a more real and interactive experience. I have been told that the luxury resorts in Andaman are rather expensive, but they provide the highest quality of facilities and services. The resorts tend to have their own beaches, swimming pool and spa, thus suitable to individuals who would like to rest and relax. I intend to stay first in a budget homestay and then end up spending a lot of money in a luxury resort in the last few days.
